How to see TikTok LIVE chat on one monitor
Most streaming advice assumes two monitors: the game on one, chat on the other. If you stream on a laptop or a desktop with one screen, that advice does not help. Alt-tabbing to read chat takes your eyes and your hands off the game, and viewers notice.
The fix: put chat on the game screen
A chat overlay is a see-through window that stays on top of everything else. Your game keeps running underneath, and chat, gifts and follows scroll in a corner you chose. proyeet is an overlay built for TikTok LIVE.
Set it up in five steps
- Create a proyeet account and download the app.
- Open it and type your TikTok username. No password is asked.
- Start your LIVE the way you normally do (TikTok LIVE Studio or your phone).
- Press Connect. Chat and gifts start appearing.
- Switch on move mode, drag the overlay to a quiet corner of the game, and turn move mode off.
Choosing where to put it
- Pick a corner that your game does not use for its map, health bar or ammo.
- Lower the opacity so the game shows through when chat is quiet.
- Keep the gifter pop-up near the top so a new gift catches your eye without covering the action.
Game mode matters. Overlays show on games set to windowed or borderless (fullscreen windowed). If your game is in exclusive fullscreen, switch it to borderless in the game video settings.
Habits that help on a single screen
- Glance, do not stare. Read chat in the gaps between fights.
- Answer gifters right when the pop-up appears. It is the easiest way to make people feel seen.
- Keep chat short on screen. A few lines is plenty.
